What is an holistic approach in herbal therapy?

Within an holistic approach, the body is considered as a whole organic ecosystem, where the healthy balance of it as an organism can be seen as a dynamic network or net. Its functioning as a whole system arises from the way its individual functions are connected and interact, that is, it is more than the sum of its parts and functions. If the net has lots of strong woven threads, the conditions for movement are easier. When we approach an issue merely symptomatologically, ii is reduced in a simplistic form, and we manage only the weight carried by a single thread (individual symptom).

Our aim in an holistic strategy is to support the conditions where the body works well, viewing not just the symptoms but the underlying cause of dysharmony, so that the network is supported.

A practical example would be: in a case of chronic bronchitis, an eczema, or constipation, which other factors are contributing to this? That way, we manage the symptom-branch as well as the underlying cause-root.

The way you can expect to be approached in my work is compassion-driven, where each person is treated as an individual, active participant in their path to vitality. There is no critisism in any condition, and a story of body patterns is just a story of body patterns.

My tools are based in my herbal medicine education (qualified Professional Herbalist with a Diploma in Herbal Medicine and trained in various practitioner skills such as Traditional Chinese Medicine & Western herbalism assessment methods, Materia Medica & Herbal Therapeutics, Kitchen medicine, Intuitive techniques in herbalism, Vagal nerve toning, Female fertility, Emotional permaculture and more).

My approach about plants

Plants as part of nature are living organisms with whose we are interacting. They carry the wisdom of their remedial effects for ages, a heritage to be reclaimed.

During the times we are living, extraction is a widespread phenomenon. The access to natural resources is getting a controlled product, with a specific category of people practicing resource-grabbing and exploiting. This extraction behaviourism is applied in plants as resources or even human relationshops themselves. On the other hand, plants have been serving humanity for ages.

I personally do align with offering herbal services under a respectful framework, without placing culturally exorbitant prices or getting profit from a person’s comforting need. Within a challenging environment, I am aware that colonialism behaviour leads to reduction of potential, and try not to support such practices.
