** Re-connecting: earth, people, plants as community **

The urge to explore and reconnect with wild natural places, local and wild food, and authentic cultural engagement, led to the creation of ArkNatura project.

My service offerings are directed to:

  • Outdoor experiences and hiking walks to promote environmental and cultural empowerment

  • Embracing true slow living mentality by exploring and supporting local food in a non-hierarchical way. Bringing a back-to-alive-roots philosophy through organizing food, nature and ecocultural heritage activities.

  • Focusing on remembering our indigenous self and our common grounds while honoring a diverse identity, one experience at a time

  • Providing and co-exploring skills towards a deeper connection with our natural rhythms and nature-to-body balance, through herbalism

TOOLS TO ACHIEVE THE VISION INCLUDE

Routes or educational activities that highlight locality, greek natural and cultural heritage, a different narrative of the urban or rural local.

Adults & Kids workshops & team activities based on herbalism, cooking, botanical nutrition, wine or local farming, that empower self and community well-being through stimulating our scents, tastes and awareness.

Herbalist & supportive techniques to achieve a balance between inner and outer body nature.

Welcome to ArkNatura!

Hi, I am Hara! I love bringing people together and share experiences around food, nature and culture! Having studied Agriculture Science (BSc) & Environmental Management (MSc), I have been engaged for over a decade in the fields of food quality, organic product inspection and certification, agroecology and community-supported agriculture networks. My passion is herbalism. From the initial enthusiasm for folk uses to deep nature awareness, herbalism is to me a tool to empirically observe the interaction between inner and outer nature.

ArkNatura is an urban-based company that supports the reconnection of people with natural places, local food, and authentic (agri)cultural engagement.

We are offering counselling and design services to individuals with a focus to small-scale production, agroecology, multi-functional farms, natural heritage and its stewardship, connection with locality and seasonality of food.

The food tour was a great experience. our group ranged from 3 to 80 years old and Hara adapted to everyone. Gluten allergy was accommodated well. Very knowledgeable and connected food to the people and history of Thessaloniki to give us a better understanding of the area. Highly recommended.

Hara was a very knowledgeable & patient guide and we had a lovely time. A particular highlight for us was the ‘cooks’ shop with its amazing herb & spice mixes for every occasion.

This activity was a great experience! I learned a lot in only three hours and discovered things/places I wouldn’t have seen by myself. Hara is a very lovely person with a lot of knowledge in herbs, their cultural background as well as the city of Thessaloniki. It was really interesting to learn about all that during our stroll through the city. I can really recommend this activity to everyone who is interested in nature/environment and taking a closer look into the connection to culture and history.

An interesting walk through old town Thessaloniki, with stories of religion, culture, history, and an interesting insight to local herbology and botanics in ancient times until current times.
